I received this blanket when Conn was born and don’t know who gave it to me. I think that it came from Mom, but I don’t think that she made it. I am pretty sure she didn’t make it.
Anyway, I love the stitch pattern and want to make one just like it in a different color but I can’t figure out the stitch pattern for the life of me. I can’t even figure out which is the right side/wrong side or up/down.
Help!!

Ooh! I think it’s the “All Purpose Stitch.” I have it in my notes, and I even swatched it, beause I liked it so much. I found it somewhere online, I’m not sure where…
Foundation – chain multiples of 3 + 1
Row 1 – Ch 1, (1 sc, 2 dc) in first st, sk 2 sts, *(1 sc, 2 dc) in next st, sk 2 sts, repeat from * to end, with only 1 sc in last st, ch 1, turn.
Row 2 – (1 sc, 2 dc) in first st, *(1 sc, 2 dc) in next st, sk 2 sts, repeat from * to end, with only 1 sc in last st (first sc of previous row), ch 1, turn.
Repeat Row 2 for pattern.
I used Caron Simply Soft for my swatch, and a G hook, and it came out more ‘solid’ than the blanket you’re looking at, so I’d recommend a larger hook with that yarn for better drape.

It’s in a book “280 Crochet Shell Patterns” by Leisure Arts. The book averages $25, but can be found on eBay for about half that price.

THAT IS BEAUTIFUL!! The color is really great too. I have some cashsoft in a color really similar- just frogged a baby bootie…hoping to make something more useful for me.

I believe your Mother did make that, I believe that may be the yarn I sent her.
She made a blanket/throw for me with what looks to be that same stitch!
I picked up some nice soft yarn in that color and sent it on to her.
