I have few words to describe my thoughts as I turn the last page of book 6 in the Harry Potter series.

Wow.

Dang.

I almost don’t want to read book 7…not like it can get much worse.  It will though, won’t it?  And who am I kidding?  I already have the book out, on the bed with my bookmarker in it.

Dang.  *shaking head*

Peace.

Yay! I am almost done with sock #1 of the pair. And it fits! I love this pattern and I love the yarn.

Thank you for your reassuring words about book 7, I really appreciate them! I do notice a big change in the way that the story is being told in book 6 vs. books 1-5. It is like all of a sudden grown-up-ness on Harry’s part.

Oooh, I forgot to tell you…I found a new fiber festival to go to while we are at home next month!! The Midwest Fiber and Folk Festival. I am so excited! DH is even planning on going with me this time I think. I thought about taking a class, but then decided that I would rather spend that $ on yarn potentially. Especially since I am knitting way more now than I was when I went to the last one with MIL & Conn.

Peace.

I finally made it to book number 6 of the Harry Potter series.  This one and number 7 are the two that I have never read.  I can totally see how people just become a hermit for 12 hours or so and read the book cover to cover on the first day that they get it.

And luckily, I have been able to stay away from book 7 spoilers since it came out…was it last year?  Pretty impressive.  Helps that we don’t watch tv and when ever anyone wrote about the book, I immediately skipped that part.

So, imagine my surprise when I was zipping through Mona’s blog post about the new Sex and the City movie and she makes a casual remark about what happens in book 7.  Oh Mona…  I keep telling myself that she is just referring to it coming out (pun intended) about Dumbledore’s homosexuality and not that he is the one that dies in book 7.

I didn’t think that reading a Sex and the City recap would lead me to a Harry Potter spoiler…I guess it was bound to happen, can’t stick my fingers in my ears forever.

Peace.

So much is going on in our life right now. We are counting down the days until we move (79 as of today, 69 until we move to the hotel), and the crafting is in complete overdrive. It seems that my friend, Deece and I will be at the Flame Tree Arts Festival after all! Yay! We were going to, then we weren’t, then we were, then we weren’t, and now we are. Signed up and everything. All thanks to a fortuitous radio interview, a bit of behind the scenes investigating by a local entertainment personality and perseverance. So, I doubt that I will get much, if anything into the shop until after April 27.

I have been doing lots of thinking while crafting and have come to the conclusion that I need to just be. That whole concept encompasses so much and can mean so many different things that I will just put it out there for now and extrapolate on it later. For now, you can read this amazing blog post which I somehow stumbled across (not one of my regular reads previously)…could it be cosmic intervention? It sums up much of what I am thinking lately.

I have been doing a teensy bit of reading as well. Just finished “The Tale of Hill Top Farm” by Susan Wittig Albert. A fun little cozy mystery that is the first in The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter series.

I have been trying to work my way through “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. It was on the best seller list forever and highly recommended by another blogger. I don’t think that it was an accident that I found it in Mom’s things when I was at home with her. My Aunt sent it to her, and Mom even kept the card that she sent with it inside the book. So sweet to find them. Anyway, I am about half way through the book, it has lost my interest temporarily. But I find it especially interesting that on page 14 (of the paperback version) there is a paragraph (the first one) that sums up how I have been feeling spiritually. Amazing to see it in print, and that there is someone else out there feeling the same thing!

I am almost done with “Living Like Ed” by Ed Begley, Jr. I got this for my birthday, since I am a tree hugger and all. I highly recommend this book to anyone curious about how to reduce their impact on the environment. It is easy stuff to start out with, things that everyone can do. Seriously, every-one. There are more advanced topics, but baby steps are the key. I found that we already do much of what is covered, but there is a lot of info there that we intend to use when we move.

And since I took yesterday & last night off from crafting (seriously, you can’t get much sewing done if you don’t have power for almost 5 hours of the day), I started a new book. “Angels Dance and Angels Die: The Tragic Romance of Pamela and Jim Morrison” by Patricia Butler. So far it is pretty good. I recently got The Doors dvd from Swapadvd and have become slightly obsessed with Jim Morrison. It will pass. Probably 3 days after I finish the book.

So, that is that. Boring post, I know. Sorry, y’all.

Peace.
